Water Leakage Detection System

We use water sensors to detect and prevent excess moisture and flooding caused by broken pipes and appliances. A water leak detection system is made of sensors, a centralized hub, and shut-off valves. Sensors are placed in areas where the leakage mostly occurs, such as near faucets, water pipes, and beneath water heaters.

It is essential to detect spills or leakage at the earliest possible time to save your assets. Whether you have data rooms, monitoring rooms or stores, the system is designed to detect water leakage and initiate an alarm with remote messaging (SMS or Email .. etc.)

A water leakage detection system or a “leakage detector” is a kind of active monitoring alarm system that can automatically send a leakage alarm to the user. This kind of detector system can trigger the water sensor alarm once they detect moisture in some locations that should be kept dry. Some leak detectors can also monitor the changes in acoustics. The detector gauges the severity of the leak by the frequency of the sound it produces since all leaks create soundwaves. An underground water leak detector is an example, it is designed for finding slab leaks that utilize acoustic technology.

Water Leakage Detection System Basic Parts:

  • Control Panel– This water leakage control panel provides round-the-clock protection against those unwanted water leakage with water detection cables.
  • Sensing Cables and Probes – This water leak sensor cable is a multi-conductor wire with an embedded gold plated sensor every three feet. This detects directly and accurately pinpoints the source of the leakage. These cables are connected to the control panel. This is used for below raised floors, drip trays overhead piping, flat probes for damp areas, and miniature probes for tight spaces.
  • End Termination – This is the end termination on every leg of the sensing cable in the circuit.
  • Accessories – Items, such as hold-down clips that are used to secure the sensing cable in place.
  • IP Modules – These modules provide the excitation voltage necessary to operate the cable or probes. The SIM then monitors analog current and voltage levels to determine when and where a leak has occurred. The measurements are digitized and transmitted back to the control and alarm panel for user display or interface to higher-level systems. These modules can be either a non-locating alarm module for small area coverage or an alarm and locating module that can monitor one or more large areas.

Applications of Water Leakage Detection Systems

Unnoticed leaks may cause tremendous damage to the equipment’s functionality and the data it stores, even with just a small leakage. The presence of water in data centers and computer rooms can damage cables, servers, and network
equipment. If left unnoticed, this will damage the property and lose essential data in the concerned facility.

Mostly, museums, art galleries, and document archive centers or offices, and establishments contain crucial and confidential documents. They are primarily sensitive in high humidity; long exposure can damage properties and cause unimaginable loss.

However, the presence of water cannot be detected easily. For example, the flooding under the flooring of computers cannot be seen easily because of the false ceiling concealing pipes above it. The leaks are only discovered after some water patches are seen.

That is why recent technology has introduced the water leakage detection system, which provides a high accuracy level in readings once leaks have been detected and will alert you immediately to prevent the worst situation. Offices, hotels, museums, computer rooms, data centers, and other commercial buildings have applications and proven track records in this reliable system.
